First, the smartphone…now our search engine?

Word on the street is…Apple wants to get into the search engine game.  This shouldn’t really surprise anyone given that since the Job Era began, Steve has been pushing for newer ground breaking technology by reinventing the proverbial wheel every single year.  And they’ve done it.  The iPhone is the perfect example.  Anyone remember the Apple Newton?  Yes, the Newton failed miserably, but given the spice of Job, the newly created iPhone plunging into the smartphone industry completely wiped out everything else.  In fact, Q3 2008 showed the iPhone 3G as the most popular phone out of all of them; which ended the 12 quarter record that the Motorola Razr set.

The rumor goes that Apple has not hired any new search engine developers recently (and you gotta have those); but since Android is now a competitor with the iPhone and since Google is currently the Safari default for all Macs, it would only seem likely and reasonable that Apple wouldn’t want their competitor staining the epic beauty of the illustrious aluminum creations.  Keep your ear to the ground though and stay-tuned for a new battle…to the death!!!
